Jerusalem, city of peace...

...Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels"...
Psalm 122:6-7

Last week I went to a certain cinema in Barcelona with a friend of mine, Anna from Wales, and we watched a movie about Jerusalem...

I was able to remember my days in Jerusalem in 1997.

Jerusalem means city of peace but today there is no peace there...

Jerusalem could be a city of peace but it is not...

Jesus said "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing..."

And also he said "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another, every one will be thrown down"...

In fact, Jerusalem was occupied and its temple destroyed by Titus in 70 AD...

The Bible says when Jesus entered Jerusalem the crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted " Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!"

Jerusalem...Jerusalem...

We know that one day there will be real peace in this city according to the Bible because it is written...

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband... "

"Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain... "

"I did not see a temple in the city because the Lord God Almight and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamp is its lamp..."

We ask You Lord and pray for the peace of Jerusalem...
